Principal Designer

A dynamic and expanding consultancy in Nottingham is actively seeking a skilled Principal Designer to bolster their team. This role is critical in addressing the increasing project demands across a diverse array of sites within the Commercial, Retail, Residential, and Education sectors.

The ideal Principal Designer will possess the flexibility to manage various project types and have the capacity to work independently. Regular site visits and collaboration with different teams are key components of this role.

The initial assignment for the Principal Designer involves overseeing three distinct Residential construction projects, with values up to £25 million. Subsequently, the focus will shift to several substantial Commercial projects in the vicinity. Moreover, the opportunity to engage in significant commercial projects currently in the tendering process presents an exciting and immediate challenge.

This position is perfectly suited for an experienced Principal Designer eager to expand their project portfolio and play a pivotal role in a broad spectrum of assignments.

Principal Designer Responsibilities:

• Provision of pre-construction information.
• Development of Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
• Guidance and assistance to clients in complying with CDM regulations and other health and safety standards in construction.
• Support in creating Pre-Construction Information (PCIs).
• Comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.

Preffered Qualifications for a Successful CDM Principal Designer:

• NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate as a minimum.
• NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 is preferable.
• Membership in IOSH.
• Association of Project Safety (APS) membership is an advantage.
• Qualification in a field related to engineering, design, or construction.
• Deep understanding of CDM2015.
