About the company
A well respected, professional Health & Safety organisation based in Southampton are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.
Well established within the Health & Safety industry, this professional organisation are currently expanding and seek a Health & Safety Advisor to join their experienced team of Consultants.
The successful Health & Safety Advisor will be joining an organisation who firmly believe that their people are their strongest asset and provide strong training and development and understand the importance of a work/life balance.
About the role
The successful Health & Safety Advisor will :
- Provide Health and Safety advice to clients
- Undertake Initial Review Meetings with Clients
- Undertake Annual Review Meetings with Clients
- Write up reports following the Annual Review including providing advice on compliance with the safety management system provided
- Produce risk, COSHH and manual handling assessments
- Assist with SSIP accreditations for clients
- Undertake the duty advisor role and completing the actions associated with it
- Conduct site safety inspections for a variety of clients in a variety of locations.
- Write construction phase plans and other site based documents
- Conduct accident investigations
- Write and deliver Service seminars
- Tutor on a basic level (operative and supervisor) accredited courses
- Tutor on basic non accredited courses
- Undertake any specific duties as determined by the business plan
- Support/mentor trainees as required and providing feedback on their progress.
- Ensure regular contact is maintained and good relationships are forged with member clients.
- Ensure SafetyNet communication is updated following engagement with member clients.
The requirements
The successful Health & Safety Advisor will have a strong background and in-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills are a prerequisite, as is the ability to manage, guide, develop and motivate a team.
The successful Health & Safety Advisor should also :
- Articulate and well presented
- Approachable
- Reliable
- Hold a NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate
- Strong presentation skills
