The Fire Safety Engineer's Role

The Fire Engineer is responsible for executing superior fire safety services, crafting safety engineering assessments and strategic reports. The role entails participating in the development of building safety cases in compliance with the Building Safety Act and performing site familiarisation, compliance, and assessment visits. Specialised advice on fire safety and engineering issues is a key aspect of the Fire Engineer's responsibilities. Additionally, the Fire Engineer will coordinate with necessary authorities and represent clients in design team meetings, ensuring all facets of fire safety are seamlessly integrated and adhered to throughout the process.

The Fire Safety Engineer

• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, etc.).
• Possesses a minimum Level 4 Diploma in Fire Science and Fire Safety or Fire Engineering Design (or equivalent) if lacking a degree in Fire Engineering.
• Is on the path to EngTech registration with the Engineering Council via IFE (or equivalent) or is an Engineering Technician with Engineers Ireland (or equivalent).
• Aims to achieve Chartered Engineer status, with full support provided by the organisation.
