A high-end residential specialist contractor, established over 100 years ago, is currently seeking a Design Manager to join their driven company in Hertfordshire with projects in and around London.

The Design Manager

The Design Manager will be responsible for preparing and approving workshop drawings for architects whilst manging up to six draftsmen. The Design Manager will be required to have previous experience using CAD and CAD Design as well as having previous residential experience.

The Design Manager will also have the opportunity to attend design workshops in order to develop their workshop drawings.

The Role

• CAD and CAD Design experience essential
• Reviewing and advising on designs, ensuring they meet regulatory and legislative requirements and the client's brief
• Keeping up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation
• Chairing design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations
• Advising on the selection of materials used and other aspects of procurement
• Working very closely with estimators, quantity surveyors, site managers and project team
• Experience working in a joinery workshop is preferable
