An esteemed, dedicated Consultancy specializing in the Construction and Retail sectors is currently seeking a dynamic Construction Project Manager to join their team in Huddersfield.
This Consultancy is well-known for its commitment to the core principles of cost, time, and quality management, and it prides itself on excellent communication, long-term relationships, and continual service improvement.
The Construction Project Manager Role
The successful Construction Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to pre-determined goals and objectives with a focus on client requirements.
- Managing the development of various Construction/Retail projects across the United Kingdom, from planning and design to construction, operation, and maintenance.
- Facilitating high-level communication across management tiers to develop and establish clear project objectives.
- Setting measurable objectives and timelines, and managing consultant disciplines and contractors to ensure delivery to cost, time, and quality standards.
- Programme Management of retail programmes, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Maintaining meticulous records and work folders, ensuring all work is appropriately checked and approved.
- Managing retail construction/redevelopment projects in a live environment.
- Chairing meetings and managing the closure of actions both internally and externally.
- Managing design teams, cost management consultants, and contractors for timely completion within budget and timelines.
The Construction Project Manager
Essential:
- Experience with retail clients and managing retail construction/redevelopment.
- Full UK driving license and own car, with willingness to travel within the UK.
- Skills in Project Management, Strategic Planning, Programme Management, and Contract Administration.
- Financial budgeting experience.
- Ability to understand 2D drawings, with excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional time management, prioritization, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Client-focused approach, proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to analyse data and situations to devise creative solutions.
- Basic understanding of CDM Regulations and a 'can do' attitude.
- Strong presentation and reporting skills, commercial awareness, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- CSCS card (Black/gold/white), SMSTS, CDM awareness, and Asbestos Awareness training.
- Up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.
