Quantity Surveyor

A professional construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their growing team.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will manage projects of varying sized, depending upon the complexity of the project, typically ranging £2m - £10m.

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Associate Director, you will be involved in marketing and business development, with strong progression opportunities within the business long term.

Responsibilities:

• Establish friendly and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Provide accurate cost consultancy service
• Drive for improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets
• Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan
• Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents
• Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager
• Imputing into value engineering
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
