An independent, multi-disciplinary private practice with an impressive growth trajectory is seeking a highly competent and personable Clerk of Works in the Surrey area.
This remote role includes site visits across Surrey and occasionally Kent, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. The position also provides the chance to be part of a niche team focused on construction quality.

The Clerk of Works Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing exceptional Clerk of Works services on a range of construction projects.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
- Acting as the principal point of contact with project clients regarding construction quality.
- Independently ensuring the successful delivery of the company's Clerk of Works services on all projects.
- Conducting site inspections in Surrey, with occasional travel to Kent as required.
- Upholding professionalism in a construction site environment, including tasks such as climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to documentation and photographic evidence following site inspections.
- Adhering to the company's Quality Management System in the delivery of all services.
- Building strong working relationships with clients and contractors to ensure excellent service delivery.
The Clerk Of Works
The ideal Clerk of Works will possess:
- Proven experience in a Clerk of Works role.
- A valid CSCS Card and driving license.
- A deep understanding of the building industry, including materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
- A keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong time management skills and technical proficiency in identifying defects, snags, and construction quality.
- Excellent verbal communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to remain impartial.
- Proficiency in IT, with a willingness to embrace new technology.
- An honest and vigilant disposition, ensuring all work and materials meet the required standards.
- Extensive experience working within a construction environment.
